Vertically integrated RNG solutions

At Clean Energy, we’re decarbonizing transportation through the development and delivery of renewable natural gas (RNG), a sustainable fuel derived from organic waste.

With 600+ fueling stations across North America, we’re the nation’s largest provider of RNG for the transportation market. Over 50,000 heavy-duty trucks, buses, and other large vehicles fuel with us every day. To support our extensive portfolio of fueling customers, we source RNG through 3rd-party supply contracts and our own investment in dairy RNG production facilities. RNG produced from dairy manure achieves a negative carbon-intensity rating, making it the most powerful solution currently available to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

From farm to fleet

Our vertically integrated business model begins in dairies and ends in commercial vehicles.

Dairies

We actively invest in dairy RNG projects across the country, providing farms with an alternative revenue stream while reducing their methane emissions.

Learn how we work with dairy farms

Renewable Natural Gas (RNG)

We capture methane from dairy manure, process and purify it into RNG, and then distribute RNG through our nationwide station network.

Learn how RNG is made

Hydrogen

The RNG we produce can also be used as a feedstock for hydrogen. RNG is currently the only pathway to producing negative carbon-intensity hydrogen.

Learn how far RNG can go

Fleets

Fueling commercial vehicles with renewable natural gas results in a variety of benefits from sustainability, affordability, and easier maintenance.

We produce and distribute sustainable fuel

At the heart of our sustainability strategy is a two-pronged approach: to decarbonize transportation by capturing waste-methane emissions. In the US, livestock manure and landfills account for 23% of methane emissions, and the transportation industry is responsible for 35% of all greenhouse gases. Renewable natural gas elegantly solves both.
